Process a credit memo for a paid or unpaid invoice
1. Go to Tasks > Accounts Receivable > Billing Adjustments
2. Enter in the following information:
a. Finance Company
b. Adjustment Type = Credit Memo
c. Contract ID or Account
d. Reason Code
3. Find the invoice in question, select it, save the batch, and post.
4. You
will get journal entries for the reapplication, click OK to
post.
a. For paid invoice, the entry will be moving cash to the unapplied cash account.
b. For unpaid invoice, entry will be reversing scheduled billing entry.
5. The resulting state of the invoice will be closed without any cash applied. It will be available to regenerate.
