ASPIRE Deployment Freeze

End-of-Year Production Deployment Freeze

What is the issue?

Production deployments of ASPIRE during the last days of the year are high risk with the number of LTi employees out of office; not only for the execution of deployments, but the troubleshooting and resolution if issues are found.  These deployments also add volatility to the time of Year/Quarter/Month End reporting and work.

Solution

In Production/Live Customers

  • Production Deployment freeze instituted annually December 15-January 4
  • An Exception Process would be put in place for the rare deployment needs
    • Exception Requirements
      • Written approval from a C level in LTi
      • Open a Zoho ticket
        • >=5 BUSINESS days prior to Deployment Date request
        • Attach the written approval
        • Establish who the SME/Smoke tester
      • Deployment of desired release to a Test environment and smoke test performed by SME/Smoke Tester before the requested Production Deployment Date

In-Project Customers

  • Production Deployment freeze instituted annually December 15-January 4
  • For Scheduling Purposes- Deployments to Production in that time should be treated like after hour/weekends= 2 weeks lead time for deployment requests
  • For Billing Purposes- Deployments to Production in that time should be treated like after hour/weekends= Charge 1.5 time in implementation documentation
