Quantity Change in ASPIRE Equipment Caused Change to Receivable with No Journal Entries
When changing the quantity of an asset via modification or booking adjustment, if you do not click off or tab out of the Quantity field before posting the modification, ASPIRE generates a blank journal entry, but still updates the Current Basis, Amount Financed, Payment, etc. on the deal.
This results in an incorrect book value as the Lease Receivable does not get adjusted to reflect the new asset quantity. Any subsequent modifications to the deal result in an out of balance journal entry.
The work around is to click out of the quantity field after updating the quantity, or clicking tab on your keyboard to move out of the quantity field. If this is done, the journal entry generates as expected.
ADO 41119 has been written up for this.
