Why Doesn't Exposure Show Correct Values?

Why Doesn't Exposure Show Correct Values?

Exposure can be found in Account Explorer and Contract Explorer on the Credit Adjudication Screen, Exposure tab.

But what should you do when you calculate Exposure and values do not populate correctly?

Step 1 - Make sure the Global Settings are set correctly for your business.

  1. Global Settings - Credit Exposure
    1. See ASPIRE Help for complete details on each setting.
      Configurable parameters through Global Settings.
  1. Non-Recourse Debt
  2. Account Groups
  3. Accrued Interest
  4. Current Transaction
  5. Indirect Inclusion
  6. Master Agreements/Lines of Credit
  7. Finance Company Inclusion and contracts without Finance Company association

Step 2 - Make sure the Exposure settings for the Customer and Guarantor Roles are correct for your business. This setting works in conjunction with the Global Setting - Include Indirect Exposure.
  1. Role Configuration in Codes and Types - Role
Direct Exposure - Direct exposures are contracts where the borrower is the primary obligor or is a co-maker to the loan and is the person to whom the financial institution and courts must look first for repayment of the obligation.

Indirect Exposure - Indirect exposures are where a person agrees and becomes obligated to repay a debt in the event that the primary obligor defaults or is unable to repay; an example of indirect exposure is where a loan given to one person is guaranteed by another person; the recipient of a loan is the primary obligor and is a direct exposure while the guarantor is the secondary obligor and is an indirect exposure; both persons may, however, be equally liable under the law to repay the obligation.

None - Should be used for roles that should never be included in exposure calculations (credit analyst, contract manager, etc.)

Step 3 - Close the contract and reopen to refresh any cached values.
