Export Reports to Excel

Export Reports to Excel

Issue reported 4.9.2025

We along with many other vendors have been impacted by a recent Microsoft update that is preventing SSRS reports from being exported to Excel and all of the different export options that are available. The workaround provided does apply to all of the export options as well.

What we are seeing:

 1.  User attempts to download a standard report to Excel.

2.  Blank screen is presented.

 3.  Temp file begins download in use Downloads folder but doesn't complete.

Workaround to get past it:

1.  Open the report from the ASPIRE System Reports Dashboard.

2.  Copy the URL from the SSRS browser window.

 3.  Then paste into any desktop browser (Edge, Chrome, etc.).

 4.  Generate the report and download to Excel as normal.

5.  The report then opens in Excel as expected.
