Leasing companies file UCC’s in the jurisdiction(s) where their leased equipment is located to perfect their security interest in the asset. The leasing company has 10 days from the delivery of the equipment to their lessee to file the UCC, so the lease may or may not be booked yet. This can be a time consuming and repetitive task for your staff and failing to file the UCC or letting it lapse, compromises your legal interest in the asset(s). This process can be out-sourced to a company called Information America, Inc. Their Data Filing Services Division will file the UCC’s on your behalf.

The UCC Direct™ Interface is a module designed to export the customer, lease, and equipment information—that supports the UCC filing—out of LeasePlus. Information America will use that information to produce the UCC filings. Information America will then provide a file containing the UCC document numbers, etc., that will be imported back into LeasePlus.
