DocuSign Integration - How is the Signer Group used?

The Signer Group is associated with the DocuSign ability to Set a Signing Order. 

Signers with the lowest Group Number will receive the signing invite email from DocuSign first. When lower number signers have completed their signing event, the next highest numbered group of signers will receive the signing invite email. Signers with the same group number will receive the signing invite email at the same time 

Signing Order can be specified by selecting a signer (or multiple signers, using CTRL+click or Shift + click) from the signer list and using the Move Up or Move Down buttons to change the signer(s) position in the list.
